Adapting is essential in keeping your job. Recently, I began to realize that kids straight out of college were suddenly my peers. They were at my level without having to do all the extra work and overtime hours I did to get where I am. As if that were not enough, I was told it was in my best interest to go back to college for an advanced degree. It's been the worst experience. I'm not doing well even though I read everything, take good notes and reread. I'm not making good grades and I don't feel I'm getting anywhere. I feel desperate. Do you have any advice?

I just read SYS-CON's response to the recent attacks in Fuat Kircaali's Social Media Terrorists blog entry. I realized the email quoted at the end of Kircaali's blog was also copied to Ted Weissman of Lois Paul & Partners, a public relations firm with clients in technology. If this email was sent to SYS-CON based on Weissman's advice to his client, then, in my humble opinion, Ted Weissman and his firm are not qualified to operate as a PR agency to serve technology markets and provide advice to any technology client until they sort out their facts from the Twitter mob fiction. After reading Kircaali's response, it sounds like this pr man is getting his news from Twitter feeds of Al Jazeera instead of reading the facts in a magazine such as Forbes before advising his clients about the "documented questionable business practices" of one of the most respected tech media companies in the world. My question is "Is this man in the business of providing public relations or creating public relations disasters for his clients?"

And since virtualization is projected to take over the world by then that's a lot of Xen virtualization - and there's no extra cost in it like there is with VMware since it's bundled with RHEL. (Red Hat's telling people they'll save $20,000-$30,000 a server.) Red Hat claims it's got its first 18,000 virtualized servers - although it's a little fuzzy about whether those 18,000 are actually in production - anyway, it's confident they'll get there eventually after all the testing and evaluating is done.
