Richard Davies wrote: The UK has a good crop of technology pioneers in cloud computing - for example ElasticHosts, FlexiScale, Flexiant, OnApp - and also some strong government initiatives such as G-Cloud. We will have to see whether this kind of technical leadership converts into swift mass-market adoption or not.

Telepin Software, a leading provider of mobile money transaction platforms, today announced that it is offering its Cayman Transaction Platform via a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model. Cayman is the industry's first architecture that enables operators to host all transactional services on a single platform, making it the most efficient and cost-effective way for mobile operators to control their distribution networks, maximize revenues from mobile financial services, and deliver innovative mobile financial applications.

Now mobile operators will have the choice to deploy Telepin's software on their premises or have Telepin host their solution. "Cayman Online gives busy operators all the benefits of using our software without the time-intensive IT requirements normally associated with introducing and supporting software in their networks," said Telepin president Vincent Kadar.

P2P Cash will be using Cayman Online to offer Peer to Peer remittance services from the Middle East to cellphones in South East Asia as part of its TAN (Trusted Agent Network). TAN retailers can process any credit or debit card transaction using only their cellphone. In addition, TAN retailers provide a wide range of financial services including remittances and mobile banking services.

"P2P Cash is pleased to work with Telepin as part of our worldwide effort to provide banking services to the unbanked," said Tom Meredith, CEO of P2P Cash. "We believe that the combination of the cost effective Telepin SaaS architecture and the worldwide P2P Cash Trusted Agent Network (TAN) retailer network will provide a range of financial services, starting with cash remittance, to three billion cell phone users."

"We are excited to be working with P2P Cash to create the first of its kind Mobile Financial Services Network in the marketplace," said Telepin's Kadar. "With Cayman Online we are providing a new offering to the market based on the most reliable and robust platform in the market today."

To date Telepin has enabled its transaction software to more than 70 million mobile subscribers, and 210,000 merchants. Telepin customers include Djezzy (Orascom Algeria), Tunisia Telecom, tisalat, and Claro. The company has also established global business partnerships with Fortune 500 companies.

Telepin is taking part in the 2009 GSMA Mobile Money Summit in Barcelona, June 22-25 2009 (booth #D6).
