Business to Get Early Access to Win 7
Microsoft’s volume licensees will be able to start ordering Windows 7 on September 7
Jul. 17, 2009 04:30 PM
Microsoft's volume licensees will be able to start ordering Windows 7 on September 7, six weeks or so ahead of general release on October 22.
Early birds will also qualify for discounts of 15%-33% depending on the size of the order, according to Windows SVP Bill Veghte.
The six-month promotion offer is good for the Windows 7 Professional Edition upgrade and the discount is relative to the Vista SKU upgrade.
He also said that 10,000 ISVs are writing programs and drivers for 7 as opposed to less than 4,000 ahead of Vista's release.
