CompTIA Discusses Certification Options for Military Personnel at DoD Worldwide Education Symposium 2009

CompTIA, the leading provider of vendor neutral skills certifications for the information technology (IT) workforce, said today it will highlight three certifications relevant to United State military personnel when it participates in the DoD Worldwide Education Symposium this week in Atlanta. The DoD Worldwide Education Symposium, set for July 27-31, is held every three years as an opportunity for military education professionals to discuss future trends and challenges facing advanced education within the military community. CompTIA will participate in a panel discussion titled “DoD Directive 8570.1M: Are You Compliant?” and scheduled for 3 – 4:30 p.m. July 29. U.S. Department of Defense Directive 8570.1M provides guidance and procedures for the training, certification, and management of military and civilian personnel with responsibilities for information assurance. Three CompTIA certifications are recognized by the DoD as approved credentials to meet requirements of the directive.
