CA and Acxiom, a $2 billion-a-year IT services provider, have partnered up to push CA's enterprise-class on-demand information governance, a talisman against sticky - potentially costly - document demands, a problem both Intel and Qualcomm know all too painfully.
The cloud-based hosted solution - Acxiom's doing the hosting - gives customers an alternative to on-premise software deployments, while providing a single portal view to better manage e-mail, archiving, litigation hold, search, records declaration, retention and disposition.
It can handle large volumes of data in various formats.
CA says legal compliance and IT professionals will be able to do eDiscovery from their desktops without a service provider intermediary, helping to achieve Lean IT by reducing overall costs, complexity and risk.
LPL Financial has reportedly chosen this combined solution for an estimated savings of more than a million dollars a year.
It's supposed to let LPL Financial do its own eDiscovery searches with pre-review capabilities, rather than getting charged per search.
Improved e-mail supervision that reduces false positives is expected to reduce attendant supervision time and significantly decrease review expenses.
