Richard Davies wrote: The UK has a good crop of technology pioneers in cloud computing - for example ElasticHosts, FlexiScale, Flexiant, OnApp - and also some strong government initiatives such as G-Cloud. We will have to see whether this kind of technical leadership converts into swift mass-market adoption or not.

EJL Wireless Research Reports Global Wireless Infrastructure Revenues Declined 20.9% YoY in Q2 2009 to USD $11 Billion
Economic Outlook Stabilizing as Revenues Increased 12.2% Sequentially in Q2

REDWOOD CITY, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 08/21/09 -- The global wireless BTS infrastructure market revenues declined by 20.9% for the second quarter of 2009 to USD $11 billion compared with the second quarter of 2008, according to the latest report from EJL Wireless Research titled "Global Wireless OEM Financial Results Q2 2009."

"Q2 revenues showed sequential growth, indicating that the economic outlook for wireless seems to be at least stabilizing as we enter the second half of 2009," says founder and President, Earl Lum. All vendors reported sequential growth from Q1 levels while Nortel experienced the highest level, up 81% due to a rebound in CDMA revenues. The report provides a unique perspective on the global wireless infrastructure revenues for major wireless OEMs including Alcatel-Lucent, Ericsson, Motorola, Nokia Siemens Networks, Nortel Networks, and ZTE.

"With the first half of 2009 down 21.5% from 2008 levels, we reiterate that the wireless infrastructure market may drop 15-20% in revenues for 2009 on a USD basis, even with 3G growth in China," says Lum. As Huawei Technologies remains the only company not represented in this financial analysis, we believe that the results offer a realistic snapshot for the industry on how the overall market is progressing for 2009.

The report is currently available for purchase and information can be downloaded at www.ejlwireless.com.
