Google now has a Firefox toolbar, providing an instant launch of the increasingly popular open-source browser, something that Google's great rival Yahoo has been providing since earlier in the year. The Google toolbar has
been available for Internet Explorer for more than four years. The new toolbar is designed to work on Windows 2000 and XP,
Mac OS X 10.2, and Linux OS Versions 8 and above, which encompasses products from Novell (SuSE), Red Hat
and Mandrake. A Google blog entry provided brief comments regarding the new toobar. "It has pretty much the same features as the latest IE toolbar except of course for things like the pop-up blocker (which is already provided by Firefox)," an entry said. "We really appreciate the work you folks did to fill this gap in our products for so long...so users can make the choice of which toolbar they'd like to install." Google also states on its website for "note that Firefox also has a built-in search box in the top right corner that uses Google as the default search engine."Reader Feedback: Page 1 of 1
