Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), is expected to announce that they have got an entry into the corporate notebook market by enticing Hewlett-Packard into using their processors for their products.

If this happens, AMD will gain a major victory over their rivals Intel. HP is now planning to use AMD Turion 64 microprocessors in the Compaq NX range of business computers.

A new notebook is also expected to be launched later today in the form of USD 999 nx6125 model with a 15-inch screen. Dell currently leads the way with their business notebooks though AMD would give HP the price advantage over the competition. Stephen Schultis, HP's acting director in business notebook marketing look ecstatic over this news and said: "We're going to offer choice in the mobile space".

This news means AMD has finally found a perfect partner to make an entry into this high volume market. HP is the first big name to offer Turion 64 chips on a global basis on their notebooks aimed at the corporate sector. Until now, Intel's Centrino package has been dominating the scenario. With research saying that 60% notebooks are sold in the corporate sector, it was important for AMD to break the grounds and make an entry.

HP's machines would be targeting the small and medium business markets with Taiwanese contract manufacturer Compal developing the notebooks for HP.
