The first Web 2.0 conference was held October 5-7, 2004 at the Hotel Nikko in San Francisco. In this year’s hype cycle for emerging technologies, Gartner has positioned Web 2.0 under “Climbing the Slope of Enlightenment” and expects it to go main stream in less than 2 years.
