Server Driver Optimization Featured at Intel Developer Forum
Three-Day Intel Developer Forum Offers Specific Sessions

"Optimizing Drivers for Server Platforms based on 64-bit Intel Xeon Processors and Running Microsoft Windows" is the name of an August 25 session at the upcoming Intel Developer Forum at Moscone West in San Francisco. The session will commence at 10am and be led by Intel's Steve Krig, a staff software engineer in the Digital Enterprise Group at Intel Corporation.

In his 17 years with the company, Steve has played significant roles in the introduction of emerging technologies such as PCI Express, Desktop Management Interface (DMI), Accelerated Graphics Port (AGP), InfiniBand and other major projects and initiatives. Steve received an Intel Acheivement Award as well as a PCI SIG Recognition Award for his contributions toward the success of PCI Express as an Industry Standard, has authored several white-papers on PCI Express advanced features, and is the coauthor of the compliance and interoperability section in book from Intel Press: Introduction to PCI Express: A Hardware and Software Developers Guide.

The session is listed as "advanved, assuming master of the fundamental principles," and is Intended for developers at OEMs, IHVs, and ODMs. Key points to be covered include:

• Understand Blade Server Architecture (high level)
• Understand Intel Compliance BKMs and related lab
• Understand Compliance Tests/tools for Blade configuration
• Understand compliance Tests/tools for Blade Electricals
• Understand relationship of Intel Compliance Lab to Interop. labs (such as IBM)

The session is just one of hundreds that will be held during the event.
