Zeebo Teams With Interlingua to Bring Language Training and Educational Content to Families in Mexico

MEXICO CITY, Nov. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Zeebo, Inc. today announced that they have signed an agreement with Mexico-based Interlingua for the development of training and educational content for the 3G-connected digital gaming, entertainment and education platform, also known as Zeebo. Interlingua is the leading English school in Mexico with 58 schools nationwide. Zeebo is reaching store shelves in the coming days at a variety of national retailers with outlets throughout Mexico.

"Collaborating with a stellar company like Interlingua enables Zeebo to go beyond entertainment and offer families truly useful, educational options," said Mike Yuen, senior vice president of content and services, Zeebo, Inc. "Whether young children want to practice their English or families want to introduce new languages into the household, Interlingua's expertise in this area will be a valuable service available exclusively on Zeebo."

"We are proud to bring our services to families in Mexico and Zeebo enables us to deliver our services directly into the living room for an easy and convenient experience," said Deborah Dana, director of sales and marketing, Interlingua. "Language training and education is important for the ongoing demands of school, work and social situations. Interlingua on Zeebo will give parents and their children a fun way to spend time together while enhancing their language skills, gaining added confidence and opening the door to new opportunities."

Zeebo is the first 3G wireless system to provide convenient and compelling digital gaming, entertainment and educational content as well as Internet connectivity for consumers in Mexico. Telcel will provide the 3G broadband wireless cellular service for the system, however the consumer will not have to sign up for an additional service plan. Content delivery and user interface software updates occur over the wireless network and are completely transparent to the end user. The consumer simply connects the Zeebo to their television set and the system automatically connects to the ZeeboNet Wireless Network.

The platform fosters the development and monetization of local content by preventing piracy through fast, secure 3G wireless, over-the-air delivery. Leading content publishers and developers, including Activision, Capcom, Com2uS, Digital Chocolate, EA Mobile, Gameloft, Gamevil, Glu, Id Software, Machineworks Northwest LLC, Namco Networks, PopCap Games and THQ, are supporting the Zeebo platform. In addition to gaming, the system will feature other interactive entertainment and educational content as well as connectivity to the Internet and popular social networking sites.
