Sunday Essay Examines Google's Privacy Responsibilities

Is Google responsible for any abuses of its technology? I drew the comparison to gun companies and to eBay. With Google’s power comes responsibility. And the responsibility in being responsible in the case of Google lies…with…Google. It would be an impossible task for Google to monitor every piece of information. But just as the company continues to work madly to improve its search services, it should also be working madly to improve the vetting of what it makes available. Google should take the lead in combatting the potential for these crimes of violation, rather than blaming the messenger when it gets hoisted by its own cyber-petard. Reader Feedback: Page 1 of 1
