IBM Says Linux is Less Expensive. JBoss is Holding Portlet Contest. Yakov Talks Open Source

JBoss is hosting a portlet contest for developers to share JSR-168 compliant portlets.

IBM has finalized an agreement to acquire DWL.

Linux provides a lower overall TCO compared to Windows or Solaris for J2EE application server environments.

Java developer Yakov Fain will host a live internet TV broadcast on sys-con.tv on Friday, September 2.  

EclipseWorld 2005 was held August 29-31, 2005 in New York.
