Born in Lexington, Kentucky, and uprooted at an early age to the even smaller town of Georgetown, Trace always envisioned a life in the big city. Her first step was a solo move to Ohio to pursue a career in cosmetics. Soon after, at 20, Trace heeded the call of New York's bright lights, when she relocated to Manhattan and began her successful career in retail cosmetics.

Trace's newfound metropolitan lifestyle inspired her to enroll in drama classes, where she found her true passion. During her transition from makeup artist to model/actress, Trace became a member of the GIP Gay and Lesbian Center, where she gained her first mass connection to other members of the gay, lesbian, bi-sexual and transgender community.
