SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 03/03/10 -- They came, they saw, they "oohed" and "ahhed" over the luxurious $3 Million 4-bedroom San Francisco home which lives up to its billing as a "dream house" -- the grand prize in the nonprofit Yerba Buena Center for the Arts' 2nd Annual "Dream House" Raffle (www.sfraffle.com). Coming on the heels of last year's first-time event -- widely acclaimed as the most-successful house auction ever held in the United States -- the esteemed cultural complex launched year two of its creative fundraising effort with a reception that brought together media, artists and politicos by 'land and by sea' to emphasize the contest's universal appeal. The grand prize drawing takes place on July 10, 2010 when the grand prize ticket holder will choose between the $3 million dream home and $1.5 million cash.
"Innovation is a core value at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts and is reflected in not only our adventurous artistic choices but also in our creative fundraising strategies," says Kenneth J. Foster, YBCA's Executive Director. "Last year we were very pleased with the success of the raffle -- the first of its kind in San Francisco -- which raised money to supplement funding gaps due to the difficult economy. We hope to repeat, if not exceed, last year's success and thank the community for their continued support of the Center as well as the artists we present."
This year's luxurious "Dream House" boasts a "spare-no-expense design." Its exceptional interior and exterior plan features unparalleled craftsmanship and details with 4 bedrooms, 31/2 baths, 4 fireplaces, and exceptional near-360 degree views of the San Francisco skyline and Bay. Built in 1900, the 3,000 square foot California Cedar shingle residence was expanded and completely remodeled in 2002 to exacting standards.
The result is a sophisticated blending of the original historic "Arts & Crafts" structure with a contemporary high-end residential open floor plan. In addition, the house is pending a Green Point Rating Certification, includes a luxurious in-law unit, and boasts a large backyard with an expansive floating deck, spa and sunken garden with world-class landscape features.
