Treb Ryan Knows What Every IT Department Seeks with Cloud

"The promises of Cloud computing have ignited imaginations from the boardroom to the IT department," writes OpSource CEO Treb Ryan about his upcoming session at Cloud Expo.
In particular, he notes that companies will expect "flexibility, scalability and cost effectiveness...everybody is talking about, experimenting with and, in some cases, delivering applications in the Cloud," he writes.
In his session, entitled "The Enterprise Cloud: More Than a Myth?" he will discuss what every IT department be looking for in a Cloud solution.
What are the plusses and minuses of public clouds, private clouds and hybrid cloud solutions? How can we build community into the enterprise experience and still maintain control? This session will answer these questions, while undoubtedly sparking a conversation that will bring us more questions," he writes.
Treb Ryan is CEO of OpSource. Since 1996, he has been instrumental in defining and creating services organizations that improve the quality and reliability of the technology infrastructures businesses depend on for communications and commerce.
He is currently considered one of the leading thinkers in SaaS and sits on the Software Executive Board at the SIIA. Prior to co-founding OpSource in 2002, Ryan was President of the Americas for Metromedia Fiber Network (MFN). He was responsible for integrating the sales and delivery organizations of the company's Internet businesses-hosting, IP networking, and managed services, providing customers with an integrated network and IT infrastructure solution.
He joined MFN from SiteSmith, a company that he co-founded in 1999 and ultimately sold to MFN in a deal valued at $1.4 billion. He attended UCLA and is an advisor to the UCLA CLAS fund.
