Cloud Computing Bootcamp Cloud computing is filled with innovation. One of the crucial aspects that makes cloud computing initiatives successful is integration. And there are companies developing innovative solutions in cloud-based integration. During my ecosystem presentation at Clloud Expo's Cloud Computing Bootcamp last month, I identified two such companies: Boomi and Cast Iron.
On May 3rd, IBM announced its purchase of Cast Iron. What makes it interesting is that IBM is already the leader in integration solutions. What makes Cast Iron an acquisition target? The difference is automation of integration, simplifying what used to be an art like black magic that made systems integrators a lot of money. I attended a session yesterday from Cast Iron and the simplicity that was demonstrated was quite impressive. This should be a good reason for organizations to be stepping into cloud computing. However, one of the benefits of Cast Iron was its being neutral and open to a lot of partners. Whether IBM can keep this neutrality up remains to be seen. Reader Feedback: Page 1 of 1
