Richard Davies wrote: The UK has a good crop of technology pioneers in cloud computing - for example ElasticHosts, FlexiScale, Flexiant, OnApp - and also some strong government initiatives such as G-Cloud. We will have to see whether this kind of technical leadership converts into swift mass-market adoption or not.

UK Web Hosting Provider Nicnames Launches New Web Site
New User-Friendly Web Site Focuses On Functionality And Usability

With the efforts of the new owners of UK web hosting provider Nicnames directed towards improving customer service and support (including increased staffing and a new telephone support system), the company has only recently been in a position to consider an overhaul of its web site. Although it previously went through minor upgrades, the site has now been totally revamped through rebuilding of each page and the application of modern coding methods and techniques.

The new management of Nicnames’ based its priorities and objectives for the redevelopment of its site on customer feedback received since taking over the company. It also considered a need to reflect the improved Nicnames service and new product offerings.

A spokesperson from Nicnames suggested, “Times have changed and the Nicnames service has moved on leaps and bounds since we took it over. There has been massive improvement in customer communications and support as well as development and rollouts of new Nicnames products. We felt the time was right to reflect these improvements through the functionality and usability of our web site.”

Established in December 1996, Nicnames was one of the UK's first domain name and web hosting companies. The company hosts thousands of web sites worldwide and has registered over 100,000 domain names. The company’s clients include Blue Chip organizations and television and radio celebrities.
