Symplified Hires Michael Corbisiero for Worldwide Sales
Provider of Trust Fabric for the Cloud Appoints Proven Technology Executive to Drive Worldwide Market Expansion

“According to Gartner, the global market for cloud services was $58.6 billion in 2009 and will hit $148.8 billion in 2014. Over the next five years, companies will spend $112 billion cumulatively on software, platform and infrastructure as a service,” said Michael Corbisiero. “The most frequently cited barrier to cloud adoption is security and identity management. Symplified has built a strong franchise as the leading provider of identity infrastructure-as-a-service that integrates seamlessly with existing IT infrastructures. It’s rare to find a company with the kind of disruptive market opportunity that Symplified has created. I am excited to help build Symplified into a world class provider of cloud identity management services.”

Symplified, the Cloud Security Company, on Tuesday announced the appointment of Michael Corbisiero as vice president of worldwide sales. He will lead Symplified’s expansion into global markets following a stellar 2010 during which revenue jumped 700 percent year over year to reach a multi-million dollar run rate and the company surpassed one million licensed users for its cloud identity and access management service. Corbisiero brings to Symplified more than 25 years of strategic sales and marketing experience from a broad-range of successful start-ups and industry leaders including: AmberPoint Software (now Oracle), SUN/iPlanet Software, Forte Software (now Sun), Computer Associates and Ingres Software.

Corbisiero will focus on expanding the global market footprint for Symplified’s comprehensive cloud identity and access management suite. Symplified provides next generation single sign-on, access control and user management for public and private cloud resources in one fully integrated platform. Symplified is the only identity management-as-a-service solution that can be deployed in the public cloud via the Symplified Trust Cloud which is hosted on Amazon EC2 and/or in private clouds using the Symplified Identity Router managed appliance.

“With over one million licensed users, Symplified is the established leader in the rapidly emerging cloud identity and access management market,” said Eric Olden, CEO of Symplified. “Over the course of his long and successful career, Michael Corbisiero has proven to be an elite technology sales executive. With demand for identity infrastructure-as-a-service taking off, Michael’s leadership skills, industry contacts, and technology experience will help Symplified extend our market share lead and position as the industry leader both in the US and globally. He brings decades of experience with next generation infrastructure providers including AmberPoint Software and Sun/iPlanet to the Symplified executive team.”

Corbisiero joins Symplified from AmberPoint Software, a vendor of Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) Management software. As vice president of sales he grew sales quickly from zero all the way through the successful acquisition by Oracle earlier this year. Prior to AmberPoint, he served as North America director of sales for telecommunications at Sun/iPlanet Software where he helped generate $25 million in revenues in one year. He has also served as divisional vice president of sales for CA, and director of sales for Forte Software. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame.
