Oracle and Sun Reaffirm Their Relationship
Java, NetBeans IDE, Offering Oracle Databases and Business Applications On Sun's Products Will Be Focus Areas

Partners for more than 20 years, Sun and Oracle renewed their relationship during a press conference hosted by Sun CEO Scott McNealy and Oracle CEO Larry Ellison at Oracle's headquarters and stated that they will continue to work closely for at least the next 10 years. The companies have established themselves as a force in the enterprise, making Sun the #1 marketshare leader with Oracle globally and the #1 marketshare platform for Oracle Database and Applications.
Over the last several months, the two companies have re-established closer ties on a number of fronts from Oracle's selection of Solaris 10 as its preferred 64-bit application development and deployment platform to Charles Phillips' participation in the launch of Sun's new Sun Fire T1000 and T2000 servers.
