Rackspace Partners With JBoss On Intensive Linux Hosting
JBoss Will Certify Intensive Hosting for Linux/JBoss Edition, Provide Support Escalation

Rackspace Managed Hosting, a managed hosting provider, and JBoss, a professional open-source company, announced a partnership agreement to create Intensive Hosting for Linux/JBoss Edition, a managed Linux hosting solution specifically designed for complex Java Enterprise Edition applications running on JBoss Application Server.

According to Rackspace, as the first JBoss-certified hosting partner, Rackspace will resell JBoss Subscription support services as an optional component of its Intensive Enterprise Linux hosting service. JBoss will certify the offering and provide support escalation for complex issues. The hosting solution provides JBoss-specific monitoring, administration and support escalation services to organizations for deploying and managing Java EE applications.

"Rackspace provides the expertise in managing complex Java EE infrastructure such as the data center, network, operating system and application infrastructure components, in addition to delivering a number of key infrastructure services designed to keep these environments up and running efficiently," said Tom Cooper (pictured), vice president of worldwide channels, JBoss. "Intensive Hosting/JBoss Edition is the optimal product offering for organizations seeking to take advantage of Java EE but lack the resources to effectively deploy and maintain a robust Java EE infrastructure."

Paul Froutan, vice president of product engineering, Rackspace Managed Hosting, said, "JBoss combines the best of the open source and proprietary software worlds to make open source a safe choice for the enterprise. As an innovator in the field of middleware technology, JBoss provides critical technology components and the necessary expertise to ensure that the components in Intensive Hosting/JBoss Edition are optimally configured and fully integrated with custom application code."
