Web 2.0 and Enterprise IT Topic of Session at SOA Web Services Edge
David Linthicum to Discuss Value of Shared Services

"Joining Enterprises with Web 2.0" is the topic of a session to be led by SOA guru David Linthicum at the SOA Web Services Edge Conference & Expo, to be produced by SYS-CON Events in New York June 5-6. Linthicum (pictured) is the author of three books on application integration and SOA, a frequent speaker at industry conferences, and the host of the "Service-Oriented Architecture Expert Podcast."

"We are moving toward a day when most of our enterprise applications may be delivered as services, and thus provide a more economical way to approach information technology management with businesses going forward. This is also the great equalizer since businesses, large and small, will have access to the same number and quality of services, much like they do with Web sites today," Linthicum says. "Shared services will create many opportunities, including better agility and the ability to operate a business with fewer IT resources. In essence, we're moving to Web 2.0—where service delivery over the Internet will be added to information deliver as the key strategic value of the Web to businesses, as well as extending the Web as a true platform."

SOA Web Services Edge is being colocated with the Enterprise Open Source Conference & Expo. Information about attending or sponsoring the events can be found at www.soaeosconference.sys-con.com.
