Me having experience dealing with cloud based tech and consulting and integration services, I realize the need for a secure and consistant cloud service. Many people are concerned with the privacy, or lack thereof, that could occur with storing personal documents into a non-physical storage unit. I can see, though with companies such as ours and Metacloud, we are working toward a more secure and easy to use cloud system for both personal and professional use. Spursh Parikh www.sererra.com

Cloudability Is Now Free for Rackspace Users With New "Covered by Cloudability" Program
Additionally, Cloud Vendors Including AppFog, HP Cloud, Puppet Labs, SendGrid and Softlayer Join Preferred Partner Program

PORTLAND, OR -- (Marketwire) -- 04/09/12 -- Cloudability, the easy way to manage and monitor all of your cloud costs in one place, has launched "Covered by Cloudability" with Rackspace (NYSE: RAX), whose Cloud customers can now monitor and manage their Rackspace® Cloud usage for free. Already teamed with the Amazon Web Service (AWS) program, Cloudability has also launched a preferred Partner Program with leading cloud providers AppFog, Eucalyptus, HP Cloud, Puppet Labs, SendGrid, and Softlayer.

Under the "Covered by Cloudability" program, Rackspace will be offering special Cloudability accounts to all of their users that let them track unlimited Rackspace Cloud spending for free. This will give their customers better visibility into their cloud spending and help protect them from unintentional spikes and waste. All of the companies under Cloudability's standard partner program are working to help speed cloud adoption by giving their customers better support for managing cloud costs, and helping eliminate unintentional and wasteful spending.

Cloudability recognizes that the cloud is becoming increasingly distributed, and that organizations today use multiple systems and providers beyond Amazon Web Services. The most broadly connected cloud analytics platform, Cloudability has support for over 90 cloud service providers. Participants in the Cloudability Partner Program are helping their own users manage cloud spending with Cloudability. The management platform and its cloud usage and cost reports are feature-rich enough to support the needs of developers and DevOps teams, yet simple enough for the CFO and accounting teams to integrate with their own billing systems.

"This partner program shows how committed these vendors are to making it safer and easier for companies to adopt the cloud and manage their costs," said Mat Ellis, CEO and Founder of Cloudability. "We all want to eliminate the pain point of unintentional or unplanned spending in order to help speed cloud adoption. We're working together to solve this problem so that companies can move onto the cloud without fear. Rackspace is taking this one step further by offering Cloudability for free. It's a huge validation on the importance of cost management."

"Rackspace wants its customers to have total control over their cloud usage," said Ven Shanmugam, senior manager, strategy and corporate development at Rackspace. "Cloudability gives our customers peace of mind that they can use the entire ecosystem of cloud services without overspending or wasting money. What's good for our customers is good for us, and we're excited to be a part of the Cloudability Partner Program."

Since its beta launch, Cloudability has signed on over 2,200 active users, and is currently managing over $53 million in cloud spend.
