"Uncertainty on how to support component services has grown and created a greater chasm between application development and operations," according to Cassatt's Daniel Knight (pictured), who will present a session devoted to "Service-Level Automation in a Service-Oriented World."
"This talk will confront the often forgotten issue of designing the data center to adapt to the changing infrastructure needs of component services in an SOA environment,' Knight says. "Primarily through the use of service-level automation, the analysis will cover: The difficulty of predicting component service loads, how to automate component service levels, how to optimize compute power overhead, what type of optimization engines are available, where virtualization plays a role, and how to ultimately create a computing fabric to support your SOA component needs."
Daniel Knight works as a Senior Architect with Cassatt, acting as a lead technical liaison between Product Development and customers in both EMEA and the US. Prior to joining Cassatt, Mr. Knight was at PostX Software where he was a Senior Solutions Architect working with the 5 largest banks in the world, and the four largest insurance carriers. Prior to Postx he worked at SilverStream Software (later Novell) where he focused on Strategic Alliances and worked with the Office of CTO.
