(NASDAQ: BSFT) today announced that Chief Financial Officer Jim Tholen was selected as CFO of the Year by the Tech Council of Maryland (TCM). The award was presented at the Tech Council's 24th Annual Dinner and Tech Awards Celebration held in Bethesda, Maryland on April 26th.

The Tech Council of Maryland's annual Tech Awards celebration is one of Maryland's largest and most prestigious award ceremonies, bringing together more than 900 technology, biotechnology, government, academia, and supporting businesses to honor the Greater Washington region's most accomplished executives and firms.

TCM honored Mr. Tholen as CFO of the Year for his strong strategic vision, ability to help guide BroadSoft to financial and operational success and his instrumental role guiding the company through a pair of strategic acquisitions in 2011 -- positioning BroadSoft strongly going forward to capitalize on new market opportunities.
