JDA^® Software Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: JDAS), The Supply Chain Company^®, today announced the appointment of David Kennedy to the position of executive vice president, chief legal officer effective May 1, 2012. In this role, Kennedy will be responsible for providing leadership on all legal matters for the company, including corporate governance, compliance, litigation and risk management, acquisition activity and commercial transactions.

Kennedy brings over 25 years of experience providing legal counsel to public and private technology companies in areas that include corporate governance and compliance, mergers and acquisitions, competition law, intellectual property, litigation and corporate finance. He was most recently general counsel and secretary at Better Place, a fast-growth startup that builds infrastructure networks for electric vehicles. Prior to Better Place, Kennedy was general counsel at Business Objects, the world leader in business intelligence and a top-15 software company prior to its acquisition by SAP. Kennedy began his career with an 18-year tenure at IBM, where he managed teams of lawyers responsible for a number of IBM business units, including IBM’s Information Management software group, as well as IBM Global Services Europe.

Kennedy, 50, received his bachelor of science and juris doctor degrees from the University of Connecticut.
