Venoco, Inc. Announces Date for Special Meeting of Stockholders

DENVER, CO -- (Marketwire) -- 05/02/12 -- Venoco, Inc. (NYSE: VQ) announced today that its board of directors has established June 5, 2012 as the date for its special meeting of stockholders to consider and vote upon the previously announced merger agreement, dated as of January 16, 2012, between the company, Timothy M. Marquez, Venoco's chairman and CEO, and certain entities affiliated with Mr. Marquez. Stockholders of record at the close of business on April 11, 2012 are entitled to notice of the special meeting and to vote at the special meeting. The meeting will be held at 7:30 a.m. Mountain Time on Tuesday, June 5, 2012, at the Four Seasons Hotel, 1111 14th Street, Denver, Colorado.
