Oracle CEO has bought 98% of Lana’i, one of the Hawaiian islands, the sixth largest one, in fact.
The governor of Hawaii Neil Abercrombie announced the transaction Wednesday.
The place used to be a Dole pineapple plantation. It has one town and no traffic signals but the Four Seasons is in residence so it’s more than civilized – not to say utterly gorgeous.
Ellison bought out Castle & Cooke’s position.
The island’s said to be haunted.
It’s 140 square miles, a blip in the ocean, with about 3,200 people and one school.
