ANNAPOLIS, Md., Nov. 5, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- TeleCommunication Systems, Inc. (TCS) (NASDAQ: TSYS), a world leader in highly reliable and secure mobile communication technology, today announced it has been selected as one of 20 awardees under the Global Tactical Advanced Communication Systems and Services (GTACS) contract. The multiple-awardee, Indefinite Delivery – Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) vehicle has an estimated ceiling of $10 billion over five years. This contract enables DoD agencies to purchase TCS' turnkey family of deployable satellite systems and associated support services for the Warfighter Tactical Communications Systems and Services (WTCSS) through the Department of the Army, Assistant Secretary for Acquisition, Logistics, and Technology, Program Executive Office Command, Control, Communications-Tactical (PEO C3T's), Special Projects Office, Northeast Regional Response Center (NRRC). For the past 25 years, TCS has established a proven track record as a trusted provider of communication technology solutions to solve the government's toughest technical challenges, under conditions that demand the highest level of reliability, availability and security. To ensure mission continuity and to meet the need for more flexible, mobile wireless services, TCS TotalCom™ offers deployable, highly secure communication solutions and complete end-to-end managed services for converged (IP-based) voice, video and data solutions to organizations requiring seamless and secure connectivity between fixed sites and remote operations around the world. Supporting Quote: TCS Senior Vice President and General Manager of Government Solutions, Michael Bristol said, "This is very exciting news for TCS. This contract is the successor to the World-Wide Satellite Systems (WWSS) contract vehicle. WWSS transformed TCS into a major defense integrator of deployable C4ISR communication systems. GTACS has twice the ceiling of WWSS and an expanded scope of work. This award gives DoD agencies the opportunity to purchase TCS' TotalCom solutions, consisting of deployable SATCOM and baseband equipment, as well as field support staff and other related services in order to strengthen their vital mission of protecting our nation. TCS looks forward to supplying our current and new DoD customers for the next five years via this contract." About TeleCommunication Systems, Inc.
