Many people are concerned with the privacy, or lack thereof, that could occur with storing personal documents into a non-physical storage unit. I can see, though with companies such as ours and Metacloud, we are working toward a more secure and easy to use cloud system for both personal and professional use. Spursh Parikh www.sererra.com

BTI Systems Selects Kinaxis RapidResponse for Sales and Operations Planning
Leading Metro Network Solutions Provider to Integrate RapidResponse with Microsoft Dynamics AX (DAX) to Establish Flexible Cloud-based Planning Platform

OTTAWA, Canada, Nov. 6, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Kinaxis®, provider of RapidResponse®, a cloud solution at the heart of planning and response management for value chain operations, today announced that BTI Systems, the global leader redefining service delivery for metro network operators, has chosen to deploy the Kinaxis RapidResponse solution to drive their sales and operations planning (S&OP) and order promising processes.

RapidResponse, which will integrate with BTI's Microsoft Dynamics AX (DAX) ERP environment, will facilitate dynamic sales and operations planning and effective impact analysis of changing supply and demand conditions. With RapidResponse, users will be able to access accurate and detailed supply chain information in an easy-to-use spreadsheet interface that is embedded with ERP/MRP analytics and automatically populated with live data feeds from the DAX system.  Supply chain participants will model the entire supply chain dataset to instantly simulate, share and score countless "what-if" supply and demand scenarios.

With standard integration between RapidResponse and Microsoft Dynamics AX (DAX), along with business process best-practices packaged in to an off-the-shelf solution, RapidResponse can be put into production in as little as twelve weeks, and without the large investments of internal resources typically expected with enterprise software deployments.  Functionality provided in the initial implementation can support possible future expansion of the deployment to other supply chain service options provided by Kinaxis.

"BTI continues to enjoy tremendous company momentum, fueled by an increasing demand in our service management software and packet optical networking systems. And forward-thinking content and service providers are leveraging these solutions to support the rapid delivery of new offerings like mobile backhaul, Ethernet business and cloud data center interconnect services," said Martin Pitson, Vice President of IT and CIO. "In order to meet the high expectations of new and existing customers, we partner with leading companies like Kinaxis, which helps us better automate and streamline the sales and supply chain processes that drive our business."

"I believe BTI Systems is another proof point that there is a solution gap in the market that RapidResponse fills," stated Kirk Munroe, vice president of marketing for Kinaxis. "Our customers all use ERP systems as their execution-backbone, yet they came to Kinaxis with an urgent need to be able to effectively identify, evaluate and act on variable business conditions in a way that makes them more efficient and more profitable. Microsoft Dynamics AX (DAX) customers are no different. BTI recognized that by using RapidResponse to leverage the data in DAX, they could achieve new and agile planning capabilities that can support the organization as it grows."

From an S&OP perspective, RapidResponse will manage all the components of the BTI process, including such things as: data import and conditioning, collaborative and integrated plan development, consensus demand planning, S&OP supply plan balancing, new production introduction (NPI) and end of life (EOL) forecasting, assumption management, and scenario analysis and planning.

For order management, RapidResponse users will handle forecast consumption, demand change simulation analysis (order promising and drop-in order simulations), and supply change simulation analysis (impact on demand order availability).

RapidResponse® is a single product that delivers the underlying planning, simulation and collaboration capabilities essential to making long-term and short-term demand and supply balancing decisions across the enterprise. RapidResponse is the foundation on which many supply chain applications — S&OP, Master Planning & Scheduling, Capacity and Constraint Management, Inventory and Supply Management, Engineering Change Management, Demand Management, Order Promise Management, Supplier Collaboration, and Integrated Project Management — can be deployed rapidly using a common data model and user interface.

With a standard integration between Kinaxis RapidResponse and the Microsoft Dynamics AX (DAX) enterprise resource planning (ERP) software, companies can readily access RapidResponse, a world class supply chain management solution used by leading global brand owners such as Nikon, Lockheed Martin, NCR and Qualcomm.
