ExamSoft Introduces Exam Intelligence Solutions

ExamSoft Worldwide, Inc., a technology leader that helps schools more efficiently create and administer direct assessments, and generate actionable data to measure and improve individual student learning outcomes, today announced the launch of its Exam Intelligence (E.I.) solutions at the EDUCAUSE Annual Conference in Denver.

Building upon the popular collection of ExamSoft’s exam management and analytics products leveraged by hundreds of institutions today, the E.I. product suite offers several new capabilities to elevate the value of assessments and transform embedded exams into Exam Intelligence – insight that can be used to make a real impact on student learning.

“Since ExamSoft was founded in 1998, we’ve been dedicated to making the exam management process easier, smarter, and more secure for administrators, faculty, and exam takers,” said ExamSoft President David Schnabel. “However, the needs of institutions have changed dramatically during the past several years, and our role has evolved along with them – from delivering software for functional convenience, to providing a strategic solution in the form of Exam Intelligence today.”

The full suite of E.I. product offerings includes:

ExamSoft E.I. is an advanced, end-to-end assessment management solution that enables programs to more efficiently create, deliver, analyze, and administer exams. Users can easily import or create questions, “tag” them with an unlimited number of classifications, and then generate well-designed assessments of learning outcomes all from a cloud-based solution. Tests can be delivered using any method the instructor chooses – on student-owned laptops, iPads, lab computers, or Scantron-type forms – all of which do not require or permit Internet connectivity. Most notably, E.I.'s advanced technology empowers users with on-demand reporting that gives students, faculty, and administrators insight to achieve measurable improvement in learning outcomes and program success.

ExamSoft E.I.x is a light version of ExamSoft E.I. specifically designed to meet the needs of faculty or administrators who want an easy way to enjoy the benefits of computer-based testing for essay-based, multiple choice, or combined exams. E.I.x provides administrators and faculty the flexibility to save time, obtain greater administrative control, and enhance exam security, while giving students a dynamic user experience.

ExamSoft E.I.s is a version of E.I. designed to help faculty who are committed to using Scantron-type bubble sheet exams on paper, but need an improved system for question banking, exam creation/blueprinting, reporting, analysis, and student feedback. ExamSoft E.I.s offers exam creators greater flexibility and efficiency, and provides faculty and administrators immediate, actionable insight after each exam.

According to ExamSoft CEO Daniel Muzquiz, the expanded features and new positioning of the product suite highlight the broader value of the in-depth data provided by ExamSoft, which gives students the direction they need for effective and timely remediation, enables faculty to easily analyze and improve exams, and helps schools identify and engage at-risk students with personalized feedback. At the same time, administrators gain the data they need for accreditation, without extra efforts.

“Schools are using our software to gather broader and deeper data from embedded assessments and make a real impact on student learning,” said Muzquiz. “Their positive results, along with the growing demand for solutions that close the loop with learning analytics, inspired us to launch this movement to bring Exam Intelligence to a larger group of institutions and students across the world.”

Demonstrations of ExamSoft’s E.I. product suite will be on display at booth #571 at the EDUCAUSE 2012 Annual Conference in Denver, Colorado, from Nov. 6 to Nov. 9, 2012.
