Niklas Bjorkman wrote: Firstly I agree with your conclusion. NewSQL takes the best of the traditional databases and NoSQL databases to combine the benefits of both worlds. I do not agree that NewSQL vendors focus on giving scale-out features to transactional data. The NewSQL market is focusing on giving true ACID support combined with extreme performance, stepping away from the traditional relational structures in databases. A lot of developers appreciate the ease of accessing data using SQL and I think we will see more and more databases supporting standard SQL. As you said - NewSQL databases often maintain the...

Integra Boosts Network Bandwidth With Symmetrical 60 Mbps Ethernet Over Copper Access
Increased Bandwidth Supports Enterprise and Wholesale Customers With Accelerated Applications and Network Services

PORTLAND, OR--(Marketwire - November 06, 2012) -  Integra Telecom Inc., a provider of fiber-based, carrier-grade networking, communications and technology solutions, announces the availability of 60 megabit-per-second (Mbps) Ethernet over Copper (EoC) symmetrical access throughout its network footprint. EoC access supports enterprise-grade communications, networking and cloud services with reliable, secure and cost-efficient high bandwidth via Integra's owned and managed network.

Ideally suited for customers located beyond the reach of Integra's metro fiber network, Integra's EoC services enable sophisticated network traffic management and scalable high-bandwidth. Services such as IP/MPLS VPN Solutions, Ethernet Services, high bandwidth internet, SIP Solutions and Hosted Voice Services can be delivered via carrier-grade Ethernet, allowing businesses to prioritize and easily manage complex network traffic while ensuring Class of Service and Quality of Service, even at peak traffic loads.

"As Integra continues to optimize its product portfolio to serve today's enterprise businesses, our investment in diversifying the reach and performance of our network is a key priority," said Mike Kozlowski, director of product management for transport and data. "Integra's ability to deliver high bandwidth Ethernet via fiber or copper gives us an advantageous position in delivering managed services and network solutions that meet the needs of enterprises and multi-location customers. Our expanding Ethernet reach also enables our wholesale partners to deliver connectivity to their end customers with office locations in our region."

Unlike competitive offerings, Integra's EoC benefits from integration with the company's own fiber network, offering fully symmetrical access with reach to more than 400,000 businesses. Integra's 60 Mbps EoC services originate from fiber-fed Local Service Offices (LSOs) linked to the company's fiber backbone, providing another option for maximized bandwidth at addressable locations as well as between facilities served by the company's vast long-haul fiber network footprint.

Integra's 60 Mbps EoC access is available today throughout the company's 11-state network. The 60 Mbps bandwidth capability doubles the company's previous limit of 30 Mbps. Earlier this year, Integra launched a new interactive network map, which enables customers and prospects to view Integra's product availability as well as extensive fiber and EoC assets. Among other features, the map provides the ability to zoom in on a specific area, select a region or metro area from a drop down list or enter a specific address to determine if a building can be serviced by Integra's network.
