DAVENPORT, Iowa, Nov. 10, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Von Maur Department Store announced today the opening of its newest location. Located at Atlanta's Perimeter Mall, the 222,000-square-foot store is one of the Company's largest locations in the country and second location in Georgia. Its first location in Georgia was opened in November 2011 at North Point Mall in Alpharetta.

Known for its outstanding selection of brand name and specialty apparel, shoes, accessories and gifts, the new store features products from leading brands such as Eileen Fisher, Free People, Coach, Joe's Jeans and Tommy Bahama, among many others. Anchoring the mall's Northwest wing, the three level Von Maur store features the Company's signature residential ambiance, complete with antiques, original artwork, open-floor plan and music from the store's grand piano, and is expected to employ 275-325 associates – the majority of which will be full-time.

Commencing with a ribbon cutting ceremony today at 9:45 a.m. EST, the grand opening will feature events throughout the day, including guest appearances by Miss USA Oliva Culpo on behalf of Chinese Laundry Shoes and fashion industry veteran Daniel Dolce, founder of men's fashion label Daniel Dolce Italy. Additionally, Von Maur will offer live music, children's entertainment and in-store giveaways, including two $1,000 shopping sprees.

Today's opening also marks the premier of Von Maur's newly redesigned Lingerie Department. Conceived through direct customer feedback, the department evokes a more enhanced shopping experience and better showcases the variety of selections, including stylish intimate apparel, as well as price points the Company has to offer. The department is accented with a custom designed chandelier, Italian tile flooring, easy to access display tables and wall units that highlight an assortment of brands such as Wacoal, Chantelle, Le Mystere, Kensie, Hanky Panky and Under Armour, among many others.

Located at the mall's former Bloomingdale's location, the new store went through a complete renovation in order to feature the Company's exterior brick façade and signature residential ambiance. Partnering with 50 local subcontractors, Von Maur created approximately 165 jobs over the course of the renovation.

Along with the newly redesigned Lingerie Department, the store's departments include Accessories, Children's Clothing, Cosmetics, Gifts, Jewelry, Men's Clothing, Shoes and Women's Clothing. Hours of operation are Monday to Saturday, 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. EST, and Sunday, 12 p.m. – 7 p.m. EST.
