Mellanox Connect-IB InfiniBand Adapter Achieves World Record Performance Results

(NASDAQ: MLNX; TASE: MLNX), a leading supplier of high-performance, end-to-end interconnect solutions for data center servers and storage systems, today announced that its recently announced next-generation InfiniBand adapter, Connect-IB, achieved world-record performance results, enabling the creation of highly scalable server and storage connected infrastructures. The Connect-IB dual-port 56Gb/s FDR InfiniBand adapter achieves the industry’s highest throughput of more than 100Gb/s utilizing PCI Express 3.0 x16 and over 135 million messages per second, 4.5X higher than previous or competing solutions. These performance capabilities are critical to High-Performance Computing (HPC), Web 2.0, Cloud, Big Data and financial applications which require a high rate of message communication in order to deliver faster results and provide a competitive advantage to their users.

“Mellanox Connect-IB delivers the next generation interconnect architecture and performance for the world leading HPC, Web 2.0, cloud and storage infrastructures,” said Michael Kagan, CTO at Mellanox Technologies. “By providing double the interconnect throughput and 4.5X the message rate, we enable applications to scale with greater performance and efficiency. The Connect-IB product line consists of single and dual port adapters with PCIe 3.0 with x8 and x16 host bus interface options, as well as a single port adapter for PCI Express 2.0 x16. Each port supports FDR 56Gb/s InfiniBand with MPI ping latency less than 1us. All Mellanox adapters support the CPU offload of transport operations and RDMA for efficient computing. Connect-IB also has several advanced features for high-performance computing, including a new Dynamically Connected Transport service for unlimited scalability, and end-to-end data protection for unmatched data reliability.
