Findings presented at this year's American Diabetes Association Scientific Sessions® indicated that diabetes prevention programs, like those supported by Emory, not only improve quality of life but also save money. William H. Herman, MD, MPH, Professor of Medicine and Epidemiology at the University of Michigan and co-investigator of the DPP Research Group, presented these and other findings at the Scientific Sessions, and is quoted as saying, "This puts diabetes prevention in the category of prenatal care or pediatric immunizations.
