Digital River Provides Subscriptions for Nuance’s Dragon Drive! Messaging Service

Digital River, Inc. (NASDAQ: DRIV), the revenue growth experts in global cloud commerce, announced today that it is working with Nuance Communications, Inc. to support the online subscription purchases of Nuance’s Dragon Drive! Messaging service. Nuance is a leading provider of voice and language solutions for businesses and consumers around the world.

Dragon Drive! Messaging lets drivers simply speak to create, edit and send emails and text messages, as well as hear incoming messages read aloud – keeping hands on the wheel and eyes on the road. Dragon Drive! Messaging is a part of the broader Dragon Drive! automotive grade connected car platform. The system delivers connected and embedded voice services to OEMs and tier-one suppliers, supporting navigation, music search, mobile content and more.

“We are looking forward to the continued expansion of our relationship with Nuance, which has been a long-standing Digital River client for more than a decade,” said Tom Donnelly, Digital River’s president and COO. “Nuance’s innovative service is a great example of how connected technologies are empowering individuals like never before. We are excited to be part of this launch and provide a cloud-based billing service that makes it easy and convenient for Nuance’s customers to turn a free trial into an annual renewable service.”

Digital River currently supports Dragon Drive! Messaging as a subscription service in select luxury vehicles. Digital River is managing the processing and delivery of the subscription purchases across online stores that are set up to accept payment by credit cards or direct debit and are localized for U.S. and U.K. English, Italian, French, German and Spanish languages.

“Dragon Drive! Messaging is incredibly powerful in its ability to keep people connected and productive while minimizing dangerous distractions behind the wheel. And working with Digital River enables us to deliver a subscription automotive service in a quick and simple way,” said Arnd Weil, vice president and general manager, automotive, Nuance Mobile.

In addition to managing subscription sales and renewals for Dragon Drive! Messaging, Digital River will continue to operate 16 locales for the online Nuance Store, including France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Singapore, the U.K. and U.S., among other countries. The Nuance Store offers consumers and businesses localized versions of other popular products, including Dragon Dictate, Dragon NaturallySpeaking, OmniPage®, PaperPort® and PDF Converter software applications.
