Me having experience dealing with cloud based tech and consulting and integration services, I realize the need for a secure and consistant cloud service. Many people are concerned with the privacy, or lack thereof, that could occur with storing personal documents into a non-physical storage unit. I can see, though with companies such as ours and Metacloud, we are working toward a more secure and easy to use cloud system for both personal and professional use. Spursh Parikh www.sererra.com

API Technologies Develops Secure, Mobile Communications Hub with Embedded Encryption

API Technologies Corp. (NASDAQ:ATNY) (“API” or the “Company”), a trusted provider of RF/microwave, microelectronics, and security solutions for critical and high-reliability applications, announced today the new SST™ Secure Communications Hub (SCH) with integrated encryption. The SB1500ER Secure Communication Hub is a single, integrated device that replaces case-based solutions. It provides both 3G or satellite connectivity and high grade (Type 1 equivalent) IP encryption. The SCH is currently deployed in the UK Government.

“API specializes in developing leading-edge secure mobility products that deliver high performance in harsh or rugged environments. The SCH meets the growing demand from government and military users who need fast, highly-reliable, encrypted, on-the-go connectivity in remote locales,” said Matthew Richards, Vice President/Managing Director, SSIA International, API Technologies.

The SCH integrates accredited data transmission (Mini-CATAPAN® encryption) and data at rest (Eclypt® drive in Laptop) products for an accredited highly secure mobile solution. It features three red-side LAN ports enabling it to act as a secure communications “hub” and provides encrypted WAN (BGAN, ADSL, etc.) or 3G black-side connectivity.

“By combining a compact and lightweight rugged design with the capability to provide WAN access to multiple users – our new Secure Communication Hub is ideal for ad-hoc mobile or remote military and government environments,” added Richards.

For unplugged tactical use, the SCH can operate on battery power, ensuring continuous operation when AC power is not available. The user interface provides connectivity selection, battery status, crypto key-fill and management features with the Mini-CATAPAN identifier remaining visible. It meets MIL-STD-810G and MIL-STD-461F requirements. A vehicle mounted version for government, military, and first responders is also available. Solutions that will provide seamless hotel and public Wi-Fi connectivity are also in development.

For more information on the Secure Communications Hub, or API’s broad range of secure communications solutions, please call +44 (0) 1452 37199 (Europe) / +1 613-270-9009 (North America) or email sales@apitech.com. Technical datasheets can be found at http://apitech.com/products/sb1500er-secure-communications-hub.

Secure Systems and Information Assurance (SSIA) products by API Technologies provide security for both government and commercial customers worldwide. Featured product lines include the EMCON® (USA & Canada) and SST™ (Europe) brands, the Netgard™ line of security, and encryption products and the ION Networks® line of network security devices for remote device management.
