I do not agree that NewSQL vendors focus on giving scale-out features to transactional data. The NewSQL market is focusing on giving true ACID support combined with extreme performance, stepping away from the traditional relational structures in databases. A lot of developers appreciate the ease of accessing data using SQL and I think we will see more and more databases supporting standard SQL. As you said - NewSQL databases often maintain the...

CDNetworks Hires CDN Industry Innovator to Executive Team

CDNetworks is pleased to announce the addition of a Silicon Valley innovator to head CDNetworks global channels team. Chris Wallace joins CDNetworks with an 18 year career in CDN, datacenter and cloud services.

“I am very excited to join one of the largest and most established global CDNs in the world,” said Chris Wallace, VP, Channels, CDNetworks. “As the CDN industry continues to grow, evolve and innovate, I am excited to partner with other innovators in our space to build this multibillion dollar ecosystem.”

Prior to joining CDNetworks, Chris cofounded cloud company XDN (formally 3Crowd Technologies), where he led a team to build next generation content delivery and cloud federation technologies for worldwide Telco and hosting operators. XDN launched their federated CDN earlier this year.

Previously, Chris was instrumental in the success of BitGravity, a pioneer in video content delivery, which was sold to Tata Communications. He also cofounded Digital Pipe, pioneers of CDN and CMS technologies, and Exodus Communications where he helped define the first worldwide datacenter exclusively for internet operations—a concept now known as colocation.

“Chris brings a wealth of experience as well as innovative ideas to our channels efforts,” said Jeff Kim, COO Americas/EMEA, CDNetworks. “Both CDNetworks and our partners will benefit from his breadth of knowledge and entrepreneurial experience.”
