TE Connectivity Joins Open Data Center Alliance

TE Connectivity announced today that it has joined the Open Data Center Alliance (ODCA). The Alliance was founded with the mission of defining requirements for next-generation data center and cloud infrastructures. As a member, TE will contribute its expertise in network communications solutions and, more specifically, the physical layer of the data center to help further develop Alliance requirements. Customers will benefit from TE being highly engaged with marketplace leaders and influencers in the cloud computing arena working to solve significant data center challenges.

Cloud computing is transforming nearly every facet of the information-based global economy. Alliance members are working together to drive requirements definition and proof of concept testing of cloud solutions. Contributing to requirements definition, establishing best practices and forging relationships with prospective technology partners will allow TE to continue to bring its customers data center solutions based on the most current industry thinking and research.

“We are pleased to join the Open Data Center Alliance and share their vision that the future of cloud computing is based on open, interoperable standards,” said Dr. Kevin Ressler, TE’s director of Data Center Industry Management.

“The Open Data Center Alliance is happy to welcome TE Connectivity to our membership,” said Marvin Wheeler, ODCA executive director. “We look forward to working with experts from TE to help further our organizational mission. It’s only through broad membership collaboration that ODCA can maximize its contribution to acceleration of cloud computing in the marketplace.”

TE has joined the Alliance as an “Adopter” member. More information about the Alliance and its many resources for IT professionals are available on the ODCA website: www.opendatacenteralliance.org.
