I do not agree that NewSQL vendors focus on giving scale-out features to transactional data. The NewSQL market is focusing on giving true ACID support combined with extreme performance, stepping away from the traditional relational structures in databases. A lot of developers appreciate the ease of accessing data using SQL and I think we will see more and more databases supporting standard SQL. As you said - NewSQL databases often maintain the...

TheatrePeople.com Predicts a West End Record Breaking Year in 2013

LONDON, November 23, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --

Public Appetite for New Shows Points to a Bumper Year for Theatreland

The first annual TheatrePeople.com Awards launched in October with an invitation to UK theatregoers to vote for their favourite shows and stars. The winners are announced today.

After a challenging summer with the Olympics and other major events, West End theatre ticket sales have bounced back to record levels thanks to a big-time boost from a stunning range of new productions that are set to blow the roof off Theatreland in 2013.

Voters in the most keenly contested category, The Hottest Ticket Award, were invited to choose the play or show from next year's roster that they most wanted to see.

A Chorus Line was the eventual winner, beating off stiff competition from The Audience starring Helen Mirren, Broadway smash The Book of Mormon, the star-studded Michael Grandage Season and others.  The vote and associated surge in ticket sales have provided a strong indication of public demand for these and other new shows which look set to help deliver a record year for West End Theatre in 2013.

Chris Ryan of TheatrePeople.com said "Huge demand for a raft of exceptional new shows has put West End theatre firmly on course to bounce back to a record year in 2013"

Other winners in the TheatrePeople.com Awards included Matilda the Musical for Favourite Family Show, Singin' in the Rain for Favourite New Musical, Phantom of the Opera for the Hot Date Award, Michael Ball for Favourite Performance in Sweeney Todd and War Horse for Favourite Play.
