E-retailer Karmaloop Announces a first in e-commerce with their Risque and Controversial Cyber-Kam Monday
By: PR Newswire

BOSTON, Nov. 23, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Karmaloop.com's Cyber-Monday promo ups the ante; they are launching a first-of-its-kind live e-retail marketing campaign. The company has hired a dozen real "cam girls," women who usually strip live on webcams for a living, to engage in a one-of-a-kind promotional event on Cyber Monday. The Karmaloop CyberKam girls will chat live for 24 hours titillating customers, offering exclusive deals, on the spot contests, performing live karaoke and other crazy surprises! While driving sales and shocking the timid, Karmaloop's light-hearted, but racy parody of the worldwide web's darker corners is breaking new ground. The CyberKam girls chatting live are larger than life ladies. "Barbie Babylons" is apparently an ex schoolteacher with a degree in sex psychology. "Sarah 'Vanacular' Varga" is a specialist in extinct languages, and "Honey Bridges" voice has been used in over 20 skits on platinum selling rap artists albums. While public reaction is bound to be strong, Karmaloop insists it's the company's nature to be innovative and boundary pushing. CEO Greg Selkoe had this to say regarding the high chance to offend: "we are just trying to have a little fun and be who we are! Our clothes and our campaigns have never been conventional."
