Niklas Bjorkman wrote: Firstly I agree with your conclusion. NewSQL takes the best of the traditional databases and NoSQL databases to combine the benefits of both worlds. I do not agree that NewSQL vendors focus on giving scale-out features to transactional data. The NewSQL market is focusing on giving true ACID support combined with extreme performance, stepping away from the traditional relational structures in databases. A lot of developers appreciate the ease of accessing data using SQL and I think we will see more and more databases supporting standard SQL. As you said - NewSQL databases often maintain the...

Atrenta Expands Sales and Support Operations in Israel

Atrenta Inc., the leading provider of SoC Realization solutions for the semiconductor and consumer electronics industries, announced today a significant expansion in its sales and support operations in Israel with the addition of a dedicated sales manager and a customer solutions architect.

Uri Farkash joins Atrenta as sales manager for Israel from Sigrity, where he was sales and site manager of the Israeli branch until its recent acquisition by Cadence Design Systems. Previously, Farkash worked for the Israeli distributor AST, where he served as the director of EDA & IP operations for more than nine years. Uri Farkash brings 25 years of electronic design automation (EDA) experience to the position. Uri has a Computer Engineering degree from the Polytechnic Institute of Cluj-Napoca in Romania.

Igal Ze’evi, an Israeli Technion ee BSc graduate, joins Atrenta as customer solutions architect for Israel. Previously, Ze’evi worked at Synopsys Israel for six years where he was a senior design/applications consultant delivering services for most of the front-end and back-end steps in IC design. Before that, Ze’evi served as VLSI manager at Horizon Semiconductors, senior technical designer at Charlotte’s Web Networks and group leader for Ethernet IP development at IBM.

Atrenta decided to expand its sales and support operations in Israel to better serve both local Israeli customers and the many multi-national customers who maintain design centers in the region.

“Atrenta is seeing significant market demand across Israel. We want to provide stronger and more complete local support for our growing base of customers in the region," said Dr. Ajoy Bose, chairman, president and CEO of Atrenta. “There are many advanced system-on-chip (SoC) designs being done in Israel making it an increasingly strategic region for us. Atrenta’s suite of RTL analysis and optimization tools fits well with this advanced design profile.”

“The SpyGlass platform from Atrenta offers unique capabilities to address the challenges of the SoC designs being done in Israel,” said Uri Farkash. “I see tremendous opportunity for SpyGlass solutions within the region.”
