Cvent and Concur Deepen Integration to Capture More Meetings-Related Travel Spend

Cvent, the world’s largest cloud-based provider of event management and venue selection technology, today announced that hotel and car rental booking capabilities are now available through its unique integrated solution with Concur. These latest enhancements leverage the best of Cvent and Concur solutions to provide clients with one end-to-end travel and meeting management system.

Incorporating these new, powerful options into the event registration process along with air travel ensures greater compliance with corporate spending policy – in part because negotiated hotel room block rates can now be automatically uploaded into the Concur booking engine. We estimate that this deeper integration will provide organizers with nearly 25 percent more visibility into meetings and travel expenditures. It can also reduce the administrative time devoted to managing hotel bookings for groups by up to 40 percent.

Furthermore, when this integration is leveraged, attendees benefit from one consolidated view that includes event registration details, fees paid, meals chosen and sessions selected, in addition to all travel-related information like flight itineraries and hotel and car rental confirmations.

“Keeping track of spending around meetings has long been a challenge for corporate meeting planners,” said Anil Punyapu, vice president, enterprise sales and partnerships, Cvent. “We are making it possible for our clients to take greater control of their meeting and travel spend by continuing to innovate and strengthen our integration with Concur, combining our world-class meeting and event management technology with their market-leading travel and expense management system.”

“By continuing to drive deeper integration with Cvent, Concur is making it even easier for travel and event managers to capture bookings, drive compliance and generate savings,” said Barry Padgett, executive vice president, traveler services for Concur. “By leveraging the Concur T&E Cloud, Cvent is able to not only help corporate clients simplify the tracking of meetings spend, but to also make the entire process of registering and booking travel for an event as easy and painless as possible for the business traveler. ”

Corporate meetings and events present a tremendous opportunity for companies to create savings and efficiencies, especially through policy compliance. Strategic Meetings Management (SMM) programs offer specific practices and tools to identify and realize these opportunities. According to recent Aberdeen research, organizations that currently leverage meetings management technology have achieved 60 percent higher cost savings than companies that do not. These companies also drive 40 percent higher rates of compliance with corporate spending policy.
