wassem wrote: Hi Tom I liked your article, you covered all the benefits of the thin client computing. In the article you mentioned the low power benefit, and mentioned the HP computer, as low cost solution, but I think that our product the Cubox that Costs 120$ and needs only 3 Watt of power could be another excellent solution.

Catalyst CEO John Tredennick to Present at MarkLogic's 2012 "Big Data" Summit in New York

DENVER, CO -- (Marketwire) -- 11/27/12 -- John Tredennick, founder and CEO of Catalyst Repository Systems, Inc., a pioneer in providing cloud-based document repositories for e-discovery, will present a session, "Reducing Risk -- Why Big Data Applies to e-Discovery, Investigations and Compliance Requests," at MarkLogic's 2012 Summit, "The Power of Big Data," in New York. The session is Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012, 2:20 p.m. to 3 p.m. EST, at Sentry Centers Midtown East.

The one-day summit features risk experts, thought leaders, organizational transformers and business innovators who will discuss their experiences addressing the challenges of big data. Speakers and attendees represent a variety of industries, including media, financial services, telecommunications and healthcare, and organizations like The McGraw-Hill Companies, JPMorgan Chase & Company, Citi, Infrastructure Corporation of America and the BBC.

"Managing big data significantly increases the cost of responding to discovery requests for litigation, arbitration and regulatory investigations," said Tredennick. "With legal review costs running to the billions of dollars, corporations are increasingly turning to sophisticated search techniques to pare down the document population subject to human review. In this session, corporate leaders will learn how they can power big data legal cases through the heart of the litigation lifecycle in a cost-effective manner."

In a co-presentation with Frank Rubino, director of customer solutions at MarkLogic, Tredennick will discuss how some of the world's largest corporations are using Catalyst Insight, the only ediscovery platform based on MarkLogic XML technology, to manage digital assets with less risk and cost-effectively navigate hundreds of terabytes of data in litigation, investigations and compliance requests.

Among topics the session will cover:

  • How to leverage the flexibility and scalability of XML, which can handle the largest matters involving vast amounts of unstructured data
  • How predictive coding provides better results, reduces risk and significantly lowers costs in high-volume matters
  • How to achieve unprecedented flexibility in search -- across all or any combination of fields and text -- using ranges, stems and proximity; and searching across folders and secure document collections without compromising the security of private fields and collections
  • How advanced predictive coding is revolutionizing multi-language review in large matters, including litigation involving Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Hebrew, Arabic and Western European languages
