PARIS -- (Marketwire) -- 11/29/12 -- Constellium's industrial sites in Burg, Crailsheim, Landau and Singen, Germany, have passed successfully the ISO 50001 energy management system certification audit conducted by DEKRA and DQS, two certification bodies reputed worldwide. This important achievement is representative of the company's commitment to sustainable development.
ISO 50001, the international standard on energy management, drives the attention of industrial companies to lay greater emphasis on increasing their energy efficiency. "For Constellium, energy management goes beyond efficient industrial processes and subsequent savings: it also helps reduce the environmental footprint. With a certified energy management system for all our sites in Germany, we make a significant contribution to the sustainable development of our company," said Walter Bürgi, Director Environment Health Safety, Constellium.
Promoting a thorough approach to deploy its sustainability strategy, Constellium recently joined the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) through which it transparently discloses its carbon footprint and strategy related to climate change and environmental impact. Constellium is also one of the founding members of the Aluminium Stewardship Initiative -- along with other leading producers and users through the aluminium value-chain -- which aims to create a standard for sustainable, social and environmental practices through a multi-stakeholder approach within the industry.
