HOUSTON, Nov. 29, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Dr. George S. Bisset, III, pediatric radiologist at Texas Children's Hospital and president of the Radiological Society of North America, was awarded the 2012 Best Radiologists Leadership Award at the second annual Toast the Best Radiologists Celebration. Bisset is internationally recognized for his diagnostic acumen, mentoring skills and his leadership in the diagnostic imaging industry.  Bisset was given the award for his efforts to further the advancements within radiology while encouraging radiologists to increase their visibility as they help individuals heal.

The 2012 Toast the Best Radiologists Celebration is held by radiologists for radiologists immediately before the Radiological Society of North America each year to celebrate the diverse ways radiologists are changing the world for the better. Radiologists diagnose and treat patients with illness and injury through the use of diagnostic and interventional procedures such as computed tomography (CAT scan), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ultrasound, catheterization, functional imaging, nuclear medicine and x-rays. Radiologists gathered in the Crystal Room at the Palmer House in Chicago to recognize the accomplishments of the best radiologists, those who leverage the currencies of their success to serve their patients, their practice teams, their communities and the future of radiology.

Next year's celebration, the 2013 Toast the Best Radiologists Celebration, will be held Saturday, November 30, 2013 in Chicago. Individuals may nominate radiologists for recognition at http://www.thebestradiologists.com.
