Multiple Akridge Properties Recognized for Building Management Excellence
Eight Washington Properties Earn Prestigious BOMA 360 Designation

WASHINGTON, Nov. 30, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Eight buildings in Akridge's Washington, DC portfolio have been recognized by international organization, Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA), for excellence in building management. The prestigious BOMA 360 Building Performance Program validates and recognizes commercial properties that demonstrate best practices in building operations and management.
These eight Washington, DC properties are now recognized through the BOMA 360 Building Performance Program:
700 Sixth Street, NW – A 10-story Class A office property delivered in 2009 that includes ground floor retail, a 360-degree rooftop terrace with green roof and a LEED platinum certification.
1090 Vermont Avenue, NW – This 152,000 square foot office property originally built in 1980 has undergone multiple renovations and achieved the ENERGY STAR label for building efficiency.
1200 New York Avenue, NW – The headquarters for the American Association for the Advancement of Science, this 189,500 square foot office building includes conference facilities and a 170-seat auditorium.
601 Thirteenth Street, NW – The Homer Building is a 460,000 square foot trophy class office property that sits atop one of the area's busiest Metro stations. Including a dramatic 12-story atrium, five levels of underground parking and ground floor retail, the property was also awarded BOMA's International Office Building of the Year honor.
1700 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW – Also called The Mills Building, this 166,000 square foot office property is adjacent to the White House in downtown Washington.
701 Thirteenth Street, NW – One Metro Center is a Class A, seven-story office building constructed above a five-story department store.
1121 Fourteenth Street, NW – This 11-story, 84,000 square foot property is owned by and headquarters to the Society for Neuroscience. The property is certified LEED Gold for Existing Buildings.
975 F Street, NW – Also called Carroll Square, a 10-story Class A office building that includes 16,000 square feet of retail space, a public art gallery, artists' studios and a gated urban park.
