Zephyr Technology Announces Systems Sales to Lehigh Valley Hospital

ANNAPOLIS, MD -- (Marketwire) -- 12/04/12 -- Zephyr Technology Corporation, a world leader in remote physiologic monitoring, announces the sale of three wireless physiologic status monitoring systems to the Lehigh Valley Health Network. Lehigh Valley Health Network comprises three hospitals with over 1,100 primary and specialty physicians in Allentown and Bethlehem, PA. The systems will be used in the Network's Health and Wellness facilities to provide training and fitness assessments to their membership. Additional programs are planned incorporating Zephyr systems in rehabilitation and throughout the care continuum.

Central to the PSM system is the BioHarness 3.0, an FDA-cleared, multi-parameter vital signs monitor with 3D accelerometry. The system uses Zephyr's proprietary ECHO radio communications protocol to monitor groups of up to 50 individuals. "We are pleased that Lehigh Valley Health Network has selected Zephyr and our PSM Training System to monitor their healthy population in their fitness centers. We look forward to working with LVHN to bring our ZephyrLIFE™ remote wireless monitoring solution to their patients in areas such as chronic disease management, home care, and perhaps in the near future, cardiac rehabilitation," stated Paul Costello, Vice President of Sales.

BioHarness™, BioModule, PSM Training and ZephyrLIFE™ Monitoring System are trademarks of Zephyr Technology Corporation. The ZephyrLIFE™ System combines multi-parameter vital signs, encrypted wireless communications and an intuitive notification graphics display to deliver seamless monitoring. Zephyr will be previewing the system at the mHealth Summit, taking place December 3 to 5 at the Gaylord National Resort and Conference Center in National Harbor, MD.

ZephyrLIFE™ consists of the following components:

  • ECHO Radio System
  • Escalation Engine with Notification Displays on PC and tablet
  • Cellular messaging

The BioModule weighs less than one ounce and is attached with two standard electrodes providing ECG, R-R, HR, HRV, and Respiration Rate, along with 3D accelerometry to measure posture, position, movement, activity. ZephyrLIFE™ allows the seamless monitoring of up to 50 patients per instance, providing minute-by-minute updates as well as instant physiological alerts sent to the clinical care team via text message. ZephyrLIFE™ monitors patients throughout the care continuum -- in the hospital, in transition and at home.
