SAN MATEO, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 12/05/12 -- AtHoc, Inc. (www.athoc.com), the pioneer and leader in network-centric emergency mass notification systems (EMNS), today announced that the United States Marine Corps (USMC) has standardized enterprise-wide on the AtHoc emergency communications platform. The AtHoc-based capability will be deployed worldwide to protect 225,000 active duty Marines and civilians across all Marine Corps bases, camps, depots, and stations. The AtHoc system leverages the Marine Corp's existing IP network for a unified, multimodal private-cloud mass notification solution. AtHoc's solution will alert personnel across the USMC's entire enterprise through multiple redundant personal and mass communication devices including networked desktop alerts, mobile phones, landline phones, Giant Voice/public address systems and social networks. HP and AtHoc will collaborate to deploy this system for all USMC locations globally. "The U.S. Marine Corps now joins the vast majority of Defense and Homeland Security agencies in selecting AtHoc as the system of choice for their enterprise-wide emergency communication and mass notification requirements," said AtHoc President and CEO Guy Miasnik. "Furthermore, the USMC's deployment strengthens the DoD's overall readiness to meet the mass notification system requirements laid out by the Secretary of Defense (SECDEF) for full operational compliance by the January 2014 deadline." AtHoc is the only provider of enterprise-class EMNS systems for the defense and homeland security sector. True enterprise-wide implementations are deployed centrally using a secure private cloud architecture to support multisite organizations while accommodating the alerting needs of each individual group and location -- providing significant efficiencies in implementation, maintenance, and training. AtHoc systems currently help protect more than 2 million federal and military personnel throughout the world. Below are key AtHoc enterprise-wide EMNS implementations in the Defense and Homeland Security sector:
