I do not agree that NewSQL vendors focus on giving scale-out features to transactional data. The NewSQL market is focusing on giving true ACID support combined with extreme performance, stepping away from the traditional relational structures in databases. A lot of developers appreciate the ease of accessing data using SQL and I think we will see more and more databases supporting standard SQL. As you said - NewSQL databases often maintain the...

Domo Named a 2012 Best Companies to Work for by Utah Business Magazine

SILICON SLOPES, UT--(Marketwire - December 17, 2012) -  Domo, a new software-as-a-service (SaaS) venture started by Omniture co-founder and former CEO Josh James to redefine the business intelligence (BI) market, was named a 2012 Best Companies to Work For by Utah Business magazine. The honor was awarded last week at a ceremony in Salt Lake City.

Domo, along with the other 21 winners, went through a rigorous selection process. Company benefits and environment were reviewed. The process also included an anonymous employee survey, which had the most weight in the program's scoring system. Companies had to have at least 25 employees working in Utah.

According to Utah Business, there are common threads amongst the winning employers. The first is that they recognize the role that employees play in company success. The second is that they have a genuine desire to make sure employees feel valued and happy.

"This is one of the most meaningful awards to receive because it's a direct reflection on how employees feel about being part of the Domo team," said James, Domo founder and CEO. "Attracting and retaining the right talent is critical to our success and this award is great validation of what we are trying to build here."

Domo has received numerous honors since its beginnings in 2010. It's been named a Forbes America's Most Promising Company (2011), the Best Startup by the Business Intelligence Group (2012), and an AlwaysOn Global250 Ones to Watch (2012).
